Escondido
Escondido is a city located in inland North San Diego County, approximately 20 miles north of the city of San Diego. The name means hidden in Spanish, probably because Escondido occupies a shallow valley ringed by rocky hills. Founded in 1888, it is one of the oldest cities in San Diego County.
Escondido has an economy based on agriculture, tourism, retail, services, light industry, and high tech. Home to the San Diego Wild Animal Park as well as lovely wineries and museums, Escondido is a wonderful place to visit and to live.
